#You’re an idiot Dean Winchester. The crap is not you. The crap is obscuring you. It’s obscuring the man who can hunt down and gank just about anything, and used to be able to take pride in that prowess. It’s obscuring the man who raised a beautiful human being like Sam Winchester, who cut the crusts off his sandwiches and helped him with his homework and told him how to talk to girls and kept him safe from the things that go bump in the night. It’s obscuring the man who can rebuild a car from the ground up with love and sweat and swearing and do so perfectly. The man who held out against Alastair for decades. The man that demons run from and angels fall for. You deserve to be saved. So please, please stop this. Because it scares the shit out of me when you stop fighting tooth and nail to stay alive.

These tags just broke my heart.

Look closer. This is a choice. This scene is perfectly symmetrical… except there’s a bible on the right side of the table…

And Castiel?

He goes left…

I FUCKING LOVE JERRY WANEK.

WHOA

Season 9: How it has established that Dean Winchester’s endgame includes a love interest, and what that means for Dean and Cas.

crossroadscastiel:

If season 9 of Supernatural has established one thing, it’s that Dean Winchester craves love in his life, but feels as if he doesn’t deserve it. Feels as if he can’t have a romantic partner while still being a hunter. And who can blame him? We all saw what happened with Lisa.

But I believe, regardless of anything that has happened in the past, Dean will be getting a love interest, and I think that love interest is Castiel.

The opening sequence for season 9 asks the question, who do you love? Right off the bat, it is established that love is going to be a major theme this time around. While love has always been a major theme in Supernatural, 9x02 lets us know that we are not only dealing with familial love this time around. This time there are two loves:

There are two kinds of people: the ones who find Dean’s pink Ipod adorable, and the ones who keep repeating that pink is a “very manly color” and that we shouldn’t be acknowledging this as something extraordinary.

Well, both are absolutely right, but it was never really about whether having pink stuff made Dean more (or less) manly. What’s important and made every Dean!girl squeal with happiness is the fact that Dean has gone from the s1 macho guy with the “no chick-flick moments” policy and constant teasing about his brother’s “effeminate” manners (mostly because of shallow things like his haircut or healthy diet), and whose biggest dirty little secret was that he’d once worn a girl’s pink panties and even though it’s kinky as hell and therefor worthy bragging about, had never ever told anyone in fear of being considered as less than a man to NOW PROUDLY BUYING THINGS WITHOUT TRYING TO COPY HIS DAD’S TASTES BUT JUST GOING FOR WHATEVER HE LIKES, and finally letting go of all his complexes and stereotypes.

And this realization is what made me want to just hug the hell out of him. This is the real Dean. And I’m so proud of his character development over the years that I literally can’t stop gifing this scene.

Didn’t you grow up pretty. Ugh, my skin was absolutely crawling when she said that.  Just look how uncomfortable it makes Dean.  Dean, who’s always got a comeback, even when if it’s utterly lame (well… you’re… pretty..). He doesn’t even say anything, can’t even give her a response. It just makes me think of this younger Dean, whose only goal in life was to be the man his father wanted him to become.  To be tough and masculine. Dean, who was cursed with his mother’s beautiful face. Who had to listen to the guys around the bar pool table call him a sweet, pretty little thing. But he didn’t care, because he’d hustle every penny right out of them, and tell himself that one day he’d be feared.  He’d become the son his father would be proud to call his own.  He’d be the most notorious hunter of them all. And he did just that. He grew up to be the Righteous Man, the man who fought the Devil and lived to tell the tale. But, as she reminds him, it wasn’t enough… If your daddy could see you now. And you can see it in his face, that little swallow, that haunted expression, that he knows she’s right. That if his father were still alive he wouldn’t be proud. He’d be just as disgusted as her. It’s a moment of shame and failure for Dean. Because in the end, he’s not the man his father wanted him to become.

But Dean! Don’t you see why? Because you are so much more. Because you grew up to fight for more than family. Come hell or high water, you fought for free will and what’s right. You’re not the perfect little soldier, Dean. You’re so much more.  And so much better.

If God had chosen Bobby to stop the apocalypse, he would have done it in half an episode and spent the other half drinking beer and watching sport.

Oh, look, the perfect gifset to encapsulate my feels on Bobby.

My thing about Bobby is that if you just saw him on the street, you’d probably assume a lot of things wrong about him. Not because you’re a douche, but because Bobby looks and sounds like a very particular stereotype, and that’s the redneck. I mean, he’s got the tattered cap, the busted clothes, the slight twang, and the fucking salvage yard. He drinks a lot, and he’s gruff, and you know he probably cuts off the cashier trying to ask about his day because “How is that your damn business, you idgit?”

But the way Bobby looks and who Bobby is create an amazing character. Yeah, he looks and acts in ways that are rather stereotypical, but then he builds a ghost-free panic room in a weekend. That thing is made of solid fucking iron. Bobby welded that shit himself. And he is the absolute go-to for information. You got weirdness you can’t figure out? You call Bobby. You got an archaic weirdness that doesn’t have a website devoted to it? You call Bobby. You need quick and dirty research that’ll get you results? You call Bobby.

There is a really, really good chance that Bobby Singer is smarter than you. He drinks cheap beer and wears a hat that probably smells like gasoline and head sweat, and he’d rather tell you to cram it than listen to your opinions on politics, and he’s also a compassionate, smart, hard-working guy who raised up the two best damn hunters in the business. Yeah, John was their father, but you know Bobby was their Dad. There’s no way John taught Sam to research the way he does. John taught the physically practical side of things. How to swing an iron axe, how to aim a gun, how to break a hold. Bobby? Bobby taught those boys how to be book smart and that it’s as valuable to sit down and research as it is to knock something’s head off.

I really, really like Bobby.

I couldn’t let him die, Bobby. I couldn’t. He’s my brother.

#im crying because of the way he touches his face like he’s precious and stupid and loved so loved #dean winchester #your pathetic self loathing self destructive desire to sacrifice yourself for your family #darling boy #darling heart #darling soul (via pinkandsatiny)

#I want to die #because for 5 seconds this isn’t about Sam #it’s about Dean’s life #it’s about someone caring so deeply for him that he’s utterly shocked at what he’d do #how he sees and values himself #and that old seasoned hunter CRIES because he can’t get through to this kid how special and strong and worthwhile he IS #and now he won’t get the chance

#and the worst part is dean’s face at the end #he can’t see any of bobby’s love #he can’t see how precious and good and heroic he is in bobby’s eyes #all he sees is bobby’s pain #so he heaps on another helping of shame for hurting one more person he cares about (via wallmakerrelict)
